Huawei’s newly opened 2,600-acre R&D center in Shanghai to accommodate over 35,000 scientists and engineers (link)

Huawei just completed its Shanghai Qingpu District project officially called Huawei Lianqiu Lake R&D Center. The sprawling facility costs over 10 billion Yuan (almost USD 1.4 billion) and covers 2,600 acres. It is larger than Apple Park and Microsoft's Redmond Campus combined. It will house 35,000 Huawei personnel. The R&D Center is divided into eight districts and will have roads, trains, and elevated overpasses to connect each one to another. The project started in September 2021 and took the company over 3 years to complete. In 2019, Huawei opened a similar campus for 25,000 employees in Dongguan, near Shenzhen, with architecture modeled on European cities.
