New York Hotels: Pop Art
Boutique hotels are a fascinating creation of the hospitality business and are aimed at providing customers with a unique and rewarding experience when they come to visit.
Lifestyle hotels are always furnished keeping in mind a specific theme, usually taken from a historical setting or event, or from some element of pop culture. In addition, they always seek to offer highly personalized services in a very intimate setting.
For this reason, boutique hotels usually have a very small number of guest rooms, each of which possessing comfortable amenities and furnishings. Some offer the latest technological gadgets such as flat screen television sets and full WiFi connections, while others shy away from technology altogether, perhaps in keeping with its themes.
Originally, designer hotels were owned by single individuals or small businesses with small collections. Recently however, even bigger hotel chains have opened up their own boutique hotels in order to capture a portion of the market share.
Amongst the thousand New York hotels, many are boutique or lifestyle hotels. In fact to this day, New York remains the city which is at the forefront of the “boutique hotel phenomenon”, followed closely by cities such as San Francisco. Hotels such as The Paramount and The Amsterdam Court Hotel are worth a special mention.
